New Pleney Lift
The swanky new lift boasts 54 spacious 10 person cable cars that will elegantly whisk up to 2800 people per hour up the mountain.
Work is on schedule to finish the wonderful new Pleney lift by the 21st December.
The original Pleney lift building dated back to 1934, with the telecabine itself dating from the 1960s – so we were due a new one!
The new swanky lift has 54 spacious 10 person cable cars that will elegantly whisk up to 2800 people per hour up the mountain. The original cable car had a capacity of just 1700.
That means less queues for you.
Coupled with the new ground floor entrance and exit at both top and bottom it’s going to make all the difference to accessing the wonderful tree lined slopes of Pleney, Les Gets and Nyon.
The new design of Pleney area will also open up a large area for ski schools to use as a meeting point at the same level as the cable car entrance.
The the new Pleney lift building will also have a natural plant-based roof in the summer and will be snow covered in the winter.
The street view of the Pleney Lift and building with it’s rounded and transparent facade that will have vertical open wooden cladding, should be a pleasant appeal to most people and a great contemporary addition to the Morzine and Portes du Soleil ski area.
